Greetings
Abekura Onsen, a hidden village in the deep green mountains, has reopened under the concept of “Spa & Graffiti”.
The word “graffiti” means “scribbling” or “haphazard” in Japanese, and we hope you will enjoy the unexpected combination of quirky art and Showa-era atmosphere. We hope you enjoy the unexpected combination of quirky art and Showa-era atmosphere.
Abekura Onsen is an ancient hot spring that dates back to the medieval Nara period, when Gyoki Bodhisattva visited the area. Gyoki prayed that the hot spring would never cease to flow and heal the illnesses of many people.
Since the Nara period (710-794), it has been appreciated and loved for its rich effectiveness. We hope to continue to be a hot spring that offers warm hospitality and cherishes our interactions with our guests.
We hope you will spend a peaceful time at Abekura Onsen.

Onsen
Our hot spring is an alkaline simple hot spring with an abundance of natural hot water. The smooth texture of the water is known as “hot water for beautiful skin”, and it also has excellent detoxifying effects and relieves muscle fatigue. It is also believed to be effective in improving sensitivity to cold and joint pain, and is loved by many customers as a superb hot spring that relieves daily fatigue from the core.
Abekura Onsen has been popular as a therapeutic hot spring since ancient times, and is said to be the hidden hot spring of the Miura clan. The local legend “Yokosuka Zakka” says that Daisuke Miura, lord of Kinugasa Castle, cured his wounded crane in “Tsuru-matching” at Kainan Shrine with this hot spring.
In addition, the walls of the building are decorated with modern art by local artists, beautifully blending the traditional space of a hot spring with modern sensibilities. The bathhouse is also decorated with artwork based on the themes of nature and steam, creating a space where visitors can comfortably enjoy art while soaking in the bath. We hope you will enjoy this special healing experience of history and art.
